Salt Lake City, UT – July 11, 2024BioUtah, the life sciences association of Utah, is pleased to announce its participation in a field hearing held by the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee. The hearing, focused on advancing and supporting healthcare innovation, will take place on Friday, July 12, at 10:00 am MDT at ARUP Laboratories (540 Chipeta Way, Salt Lake City, UT). The hearing is open to the public. Doors open at 9:00 am.

BioUtah President and CEO Kelvyn Cullimore is set to testify before the committee which will include Utah Representative Blake Moore (R-UT), a member of the committee, and other Utah Representatives Celeste Maloy (R-UT) and Burgess Owens. This committee plays a vital role in shaping health care and innovation policy.

The hearing will also feature an innovation showcase exhibit, highlighting the important contributions of Utah's life sciences companies.

Innovation Showcase 

In conjunction with the House Ways and Means Committee Field Hearing on Healthcare Innovation, a number of Utah's leading life sciences companies, including ARUP Laboratories, Edwards Lifesciences, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Altitude Lab, Blackrock Neurotech, bioMérieux, Cūrza, Denali Therapeutics, DiscGenics, Epitel, Fluidx Medical Technology, Foldax, Halia Therapeutics, Seek Labs, Stryker Neurovascular, and the University of Utah Technology Licensing Office, will showcase their latest advancements. This event highlights Utah's innovation in diagnostics, gene therapy, medical devices, and more.
