Attracting more than 400 registrants, the E&I Summit shines a light on Utah’s vibrant innovation ecosystem, convening entrepreneurs, investors, academic research centers, incubators, service providers and more. As one of the fastest growing life sciences hubs in the nation, Utah’s life sciences industry accounts for $22.6 billion in GDP and approximately 180,000 jobs directly and indirectly.

“The annual E&I Summit is where innovators, investors, and industry leaders meet to discuss Utah’s booming life sciences sector, hear from experts in the field, showcase startups, and explore funding opportunities,” said Kelvyn Cullimore, president and CEO of BioUtah.

Monica DiCenso, managing director and head of global investment opportunities group at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, will take center stage to shed light on market conditions and the outlook for the life sciences industry.

Ann Sommers Hogg, director of health care research with the Christensen Institute will be presenting on disruptive health care innovations.

Top-tier CEOs who have navigated the world of entrepreneurship will share their well-honed perspectives on the innovation journey from ideation to successful commercialization.

Principals from national venture capital firms as well as notables from Utah’s local investment community will explore what it takes for early-stage companies to attract capital.

The E&I Summit will also feature an exciting Shark Tank-style pitch competition where life sciences companies will present their innovations to a panel of experts and investors. Presentations will be categorized into three groups: medical devices/diagnostics; pharmaceuticals/therapeutics and biotechnology/digital health. The winner of each competition will receive a cash prize, along with additional awards and recognition. Application information can be found on the E&I Summit website.

“We’re excited to collaborate with BioUtah to support this important conference, which brings together all sectors of our life sciences industry that are working to change patients’ lives.” said Michael Stark, associate dean of the College of Life Sciences at Brigham Young University. “

On March 13, attendees may continue their conversations on the slopes during a ski day and luncheon at Snowbird Ski Resort.
