Attracting over 400 registrants, the E&I Summit turns the spotlight on Utah’s vibrant innovation ecosystem, convening entrepreneurs, investors (local and national), academic research centers, incubators, service providers and more. As one of the fastest growing life sciences hubs in the nation, Utah’s industry accounts for $22.6 billion in GDP and approximately 180,000 jobs.
“The E&I Summit is where Utah’s life sciences innovators meet investors and make important connections to support promising new healthcare technologies that can change patients' lives,” said Kelvyn Cullimore, president and CEO of BioUtah. “We’re proud to be uniquely Utah, remaining true to our long-standing culture of discovery and collaboration.”
Monica DiCenso, managing director and head of Global Investment Opportunities Group at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, will take center stage to shed light on the investment environment and outlook for the life sciences industry.
Top-tier CEOs who have navigated the world of entrepreneurship will share their well-honed perspectives on building a life sciences company.
Principals from national venture capital firms as well as leaders of Utah’s local investment community will discuss what it takes for early-stage companies to attract capital. A dedicated networking session will provide attendees an opportunity to make valuable contacts. The E&I Summit will once again hold its popular Pitch Competition. Nine companies will be selected to present their product before a slate of seasoned judges. Information on all applicant companies will be available on the E&I Summit website.
“The conference is designed to support Utah’s healthcare entrepreneurs and highlight all segments of our industry, from medical devices and diagnostics to drugs and therapeutics,” said, Myles Greenberg, MD, president and CEO of Alucent Biomedical and chair of the BioUtah Board of Directors.
On March 15, following the E&I Summit, attendees who have registered for the ski day can continue their conversations on the slopes during a ski day and luncheon at Deer Valley Resort.
